Police incident shuts down southbound MoPac near U.S. 183

AUSTIN, Texas — An active police situation has shut down all the southbound lanes of MoPac Expressway near U.S. 183 in Austin.

Officials didn’t give any information about what the police activity was for on Tuesday morning, but MoPac was closed at West Andreson Lane and Spicewood Springs Road, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

The Austin Police Department said the “active police incident” had also shut down all on-ramps and toll lanes along MoPac in the area.
