A fire inside a home near Love Field on Monday night resulted in the death of one of the two people who were unable to escape on their own, officials said.
Heavy fire could be seen coming from the one-story house in the 7400 block of Caillet Street as firefighters responded around 9:54 p.m. to a reported house fire, said Jason Evans, a spokesperson for Dallas Fire-Rescue.
There were six people inside the house during the fire, he said. Only four people were able to escape on their own, while a man and woman were still inside as firefighters worked to put the fire out, according to Evans.
The woman was later found near an exit of the home. The man, who was deep inside the home, was found unresponsive by fire crews, according to Evans.
