AUSTIN, Texas (KCBD) – U.S. Representative Jodey Arrington praised Texas Tech’s football team on the House floor today, highlighting the Red Raiders’ record-breaking season.
Arrington, who represents Lubbock in Congress, recognized the work of head coach Joey McGuire and his coaching staff. He said the team represents the core of the West Texas spirit.
Texas Tech has won 11 games this football season with an average victory margin of more than 35 points.
“I’m proud to be a Red Raider. I’m honored to represent Texas Tech in Congress, and I’m fired up for the country to know more about West Texas—the Food, Fuel, Fiber, and Football Capital of the World,” Arrington said. “Mr. Speaker, as for me and my house, we will be in Miami on New Year’s Day with a lot of proud and rowdy Red Raiders, cheering on America’s team to win it all. Guns up, go Red Raiders, let’s win that national championship!”
