Fort Bliss officials explained that all community outreach events not directly tied to national security have to be put on pause, and unfortunately, that includes one of El Paso’s most beloved annual traditions. The Airsho was supposed to light up the skies this weekend, but now, fans of the show are left wondering if they’ll be getting a refund for their tickets?
If you snagged tickets, don’t panic because Fort Bliss says the Amigo Airsho committee will be issuing refunds.

The news hits especially hard because the Amigo Airsho just made a comeback last year after a 12-year hiatus. The 2024 return brought the roar of jet engines, crowds of families, and that unmistakable smell of funnel cakes in the air. While the event got a little criticism, organizers took everyone’s feedback seriously and promised a totally revamped experience this year.
Sadly, we’ll have to wait a little longer to see those upgrades in action. Until then, El Pasoans can only look to the sky and hope 2026 brings clearer skies and no shutdowns.
