LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech Athletics announced on X that four Red Raider football staff members received contract extensions over the next few years.
Associate head coach Kenny Perry, defensive coordinator Shiel Wood, offensive coordinator Mack Leftwich and general manager James Blanchard all received extensions through 2028.
Prior to this, coach Joey McGuire signed a contract extension through the next seven years before he led the Red Raiders to their first Big 12 Conference championship.
Wood and Leftwich are in their first year on the Red Raider coaching staff and have led the Red Raiders to a No. 4 College Football Playoff ranking.
Perry and Blanchard played crucial roles on McGuire’s staff when he arrived in Lubbock. Now, the three are seeing the results they expected, playing on New Year’s Day in the Orange Bowl in Miami after getting a bye to start the playoffs.
The Orange Bowl will feature Texas Tech and the winner of James Madison vs. Oregon. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m. CT/Noon ET on Jan. 1 in Miami.
