Scattered rain chances for showers and storms will keep roads wet throughout the day. Heavier pockets of rain could lead to ponding on roads.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — We are highlighting Wednesday morning and early afternoon for the chance of scattered showers and storms. Rainfall rates in some of these showers and storms could be up to multiple inches per hour, thanks to the high moisture content in our atmosphere. This may cause some localized street flooding and make it difficult to see while driving.

We aren’t expecting severe weather, but stronger wind gusts up to 30 mph are possible with storms.

Weather Impact Alert

Coverage overall will be scattered to numerous, but it does look like coastal locations will be targeted for higher rainfall rates and stronger storms. The area highlighted in darker green has the best chance of seeing higher rainfall rates, which could lead to totals of 1-3 inches.

Scattered showers will be in the area through the morning. Thunderstorm activity will increase as more energy is available after the sun comes up. We will see the highest chances in the Coastal Bend between 6 AM and 3 PM.
