We are still 8 days away from Christmas and while we aren’t completely sure what the weather will look like in over a week, this much is becoming evident, Lubbock along with West Texas and the entire state will not being seeing a white Christmas this year.

Christmas Day Cookouts in Texas?

The first day of Winter is on Sunday, but the forecast for Christmas morning is showing that Winter is not even in the ballpark for our weather. In fact, over the next ten days, Thursday’s high of 61 is the coolest it’s going to be around here for the rest of 2025 if the forecast holds.

So if you are someone who hates the cold and snow, you can be pretty happy about things right now. What does the weather look like it’s going to be on Christmas morning in Lubbock and surrounding areas? According to the National Weather Service, Christmas Day will see a high of 81 degrees. Perfect for a good cookout.

A Warm Christmas Day for Texas

West Texas not the only part of the state that will experience 80 degree weather. From Amarillo to Dallas-Fort Worth, and from Austin to Houston, most of Texas will see high temperatures in the upper 70’s to low 80’s.

For those who love the cold, don’t worry, I’m sure the cold weather will return soon.
