Our long, weird, and occasionally frustrating battle with Instagram is finally over — and honestly, we landed somewhere pretty cool.
Somewhere along the way, we were effectively locked out of our old FMX Instagram account, the one you knew as FMXRocks. Now, before you say, “Wait… you were still posting there?” — yes, technically. But only in the most awkward way possible. We could only cross-post from Facebook. That meant if we grabbed a quick concert photo, a backstage moment, or something we just had to share in real time, Instagram said, “Nope.” That’s not how a rock station should live.
So we took a breath, rolled up our sleeves, and decided it was time to fix it properly.
Why Changing Handles Wasn’t Easy For FMX
Finding a new Instagram handle isn’t as simple as you’d think. First, there are people who squat on usernames and never use them. Second, “FMX” turns out to be extremely popular in the racing world. That narrowed the field fast.
At the same time, we wanted something that actually meant something — not a random workaround, not a compromise that didn’t feel like us.
FMX Is Rooted In Lubbock, Always
Here’s the thing: The RockShow reaches five radio markets. Renee Raven absolutely dominates weekends in over a dozen national markets. We do well elsewhere, and we’re proud of that.
But we’ve always known where we come from.
Lubbock isn’t just our broadcast point — it’s home. It’s the listeners who’ve been with us through thick and thin, the shows, the festivals, the concerts, and the memories that stretch back decades. We rule radio here, and we’ve never pretended otherwise.
So Here It Is: @FMXLBK
Six letters. One identity.
FMX + Lubbock = @FMXLBK
It’s clean, it’s simple, and it tells you exactly who we are and where we’re from. No confusion. No fluff. Just FMX, grounded firmly in LBK.

Drop by, give us a follow, say hey — or even say, “Not again.” We’ll take it. Mostly, thank you for rocking with us for 45 years. With any luck, we won’t ever have to make a change like this again.
