1. State agency to quicken pace for Texas flood warning systems

The process for flood-affected areas in Texas to implement warning sirens and flood gauges following the catastrophic floods in July 2025 could be quickening.

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) voted on Tuesday to allocate close to $1 million each to 30 counties with a severe history of flooding through a new grant program. This money is expected to be available early in the new year.

2. Austin United PAC claims petition to stop convention center expansion was unlawfully rejected

The Austin United PAC is suing the city after a petition to block the expansion of the convention center was rejected.

According to KVUE, the political action committee claims Erika Brady, the Austin city clerk, unlawfully rejected the group’s petition.

3. Southlake Carroll ISD to consider closing intermediate school

Southlake Carroll Independent School District may add themselves to a growing list of school districts around the state considering campus consolidations, according to a press release shared by Carroll ISD on Monday.

Memorial crosses gifted to families of Texas Hill Country flood victims

A prayer garden in Kerrville has been a place for everyone to mourn the loss of their loved ones, the crosses bringing some comfort to families.
