The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is advancing a significant project aimed at alleviating traffic congestion on Highway 90.

The initiative involves widening the main lanes from a four-lane divided expressway to a six-lane highway and adding continuous frontage roads.

The plan also includes constructing a new flyover ramp from Highway 90 westbound to northbound Loop 1604.

Additionally, turnaround bridges will be built at Loop 211, Loop 1604, and Montgomery Road.

The first phase of the project, stretching from Loop 410 to Loop 1604, has commenced and is expected to be completed by 2030.

The second phase, from Loop 1604 to Loop 211, is scheduled to start in 2027 and conclude in 2031.
