EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The El Paso Police Department and State Troopers found 60 violations of commercial motor vehicles during a four-hour enforcement operation on Wednesday, Dec. 10.

Operation Safe Sleigh began at 7:30 a.m. on Dec. 10 on Loop 375, according to El Paso Police.

Police Officers and State Troopers partnered with the Texas Department of Public Safety, inspected a total of 22 commercial motor vehicles. Eight vehicles were taken out of service due to the violations.

Here’s a breakdown of the 60 violations:

Total out of Service Violations: 8

Non-English-Speaking Driver: 2

Disregard Weigh Station Citation: 6

“Both agencies are committed to keeping the community safe by keeping all commercial operators accountable for the safety of their vehicles and the public,” according to the El Paso Police.
