SAN ANTONIO – A suspect is behind bars after a young girl made an outcry, alleging he sexually abused her for years.

Around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, 23-year-old Daniel De La Paz was arrested and charged with Continuous Sex Abuse ofa Child Under 14.

According to the arrest affidavit, the 12-year-old victim, a family member of the suspect, made an outcry to staff at her school that she was being sexually abused by De La Paz.

One school staff member called the police and reported the incident. Officers then interviewed the girl, who said she had been regularly assaulted by thesuspect since the age of 10.

The affidavit also claims that the suspect allegedly confessed to police of at least one incident where he assaulted the victim.

Daniel De La Paz has also been charged with Illegal Entry from a Foreign Nation, and is currently being held on a federal immigration detainer.
