SAN ANTONIO — Will former mayor Ron Nirenberg run for Bexar County Judge?

Nirenberg confirmed to News 4 San Antonio/Fox SA that he is considering a potential run but will not make a decision until after this upcoming election.

Nirenberg was first elected mayor back in 2017, serving as mayor for eight years, the maximum under San Antonio’s term limits. Prior to the mayor job, he was a member of the city council for district eight for two terms.

Currently, Bexar County Judge Peter Sakai was elected to the position back in 2022. His 4 year term will be up next year.

We will have to wait and see if Nirenberg will join the race…..candidates seeking to run in the primary election for county and precinct offices – the primary is in March, will have to file later this year, and then of course the big general election is next November.
