LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – We have a major announcement concerning the KCBD First Alert Weather Team. John Robison has made the decision to scale back his responsibilities at the station. Thankfully, for us at the station as well as our audience across the South Plains, John has decided to continue doing weather at KCBD, stepping into the role of Senior Meteorologist.
In this next phase, familiar faces who have earned the trust and respect of our viewers will still be seen from morning to night on KCBD.
Beginning in January, John will deliver his forecast on NewsChannel 11 at Noon and 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. He will also deliver the weather Sunday nights on NewsChannel 11 at Nine and 10 p.m.
Steve Divine, a fixture on KCBD for more than a quarter century, with more than 40 years of broadcasting experience, will oversee the KCBD First Alert Weather Team as Lead Forecaster. He will be seen weeknights on NewsChannel 11 at Five, Six, Nine and Ten.
Meteorologist Shania Jackson will step into the role of forecasting mornings, seen weekdays on Daybreak Today and Good Day Lubbock. Both Steve and Shania have made multi-year commitments, to ensure the success of this transition plan.
Congratulations to John, Steve and Shania! We are excited about this next phase of serving the South Plains with the most-trusted, most-experienced and most-watched weather team.
