CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Police are investigating an early-morning shooting that left a man critically injured following an altercation on Mesquite Street.
The Corpus Christi Police Department received reports of a shooting at the 400 block of North Mesquite St. around 1 a.m.
When they arrived, they found a man on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined the shooting involved an altercation between three men. Police say one of the men displayed a firearm and shot the victim several times.
Paramedics took the man to a local hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.
Police say the shooting was not random and that all individuals involved knew each other.
Officers have questioned the other men as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made, and the investigation continues.
