Jason Corley can continue to serve as Lubbock County Commissioner for Precinct 2. That according to a ruling from a Judge on Friday.

Judge Returns Corley to the Lubbock County Commissioners Court

On Monday December 8, Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish stunned many when he announced that he had removed Commissioner Corley from the Commissioners Court after he believed that Corley had resigned his seat by announcing early that he was running for Congress.

Parrish then installed Mark Meurer as the interim Commissioner for Precinct 2.

The judge on Friday, Visiting Senior Judge Patrick Pirtle ruled in favor of Corley over Parrish and Muerer.

Simply, it means that Jason Corley can take his seat on the County Commissioners Court and Mark Muerer has been removed from that seat.

It also means the tension between County Commissioner and Lubbock County Judge Curtis Parrish will be turned up even higher.

Commissioner Jason Corley will appear on The Chad Hasty Show at 6:15pm Friday evening.
