Katerina, a chef-driven restaurant led by local culinary talents, will open in early January in the former Frida Restaurant space in Stone Oak, officials with the new business said Thursday. ‘
The owners told the Current the restaurant, located at 18740 Stone Oak Parkway, will emphasize bold flavors, inventive dishes and approachable elegance. However, they didn’t share a grand opening date.
Helmed by chefs Justin Manzi — a Culinary Institute of America graduate with experience at Cover 3 and Goodfolks — and Greg Carter, a San Antonio native who’s worked in Michelin-starred kitchens, Katerina promises a menu that balances creativity with comfort.Â

Guests can expect dishes including coriander-crusted duck breast, calamari and wood-roasted Wagyu meatballs, Katerina officials said. Other menu items will include ginger-soy Brussels sprouts, prosciutto and fig pizza, shrimp Katerina and maple-peanut butter pie.Â
Katerina’s dining experience will be paired with a curated beverage program and a hospitality team focused on creating a warm, welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels seen, the owners also said.
