For the fourth time in the DeSoto Eagles football program history, they can lay the claim to being a state champion.

And they did so by arguably being the best team in the state of Texas along the way with some impressive, high-scoring performances.

DeSoto went into halftime with a 27-point lead and went on to win, 55-27, over C.E. King for the UIL Class 6A, Division II state championship on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium. The Eagles’ victory over the Panthers capped the final high school football game of the 2025 season as all state finals on the gridiron are now fully complete.

They say everything is bigger in Texas and the Eagles made sure to let the country knows its offense went out with a massive performance.

The Eagles got big performances on the night from USC commitment Boobie Feaster and junior running back SaRod Baker, who finished the dais with over 100 yards rushing.

DeSoto made sure they left no doubt on who Texas high school football’s top program might be of 2025 as they raced out to a 27-0 lead before C.E. King could even blink an eye. The Panthers began fighting back, cutting it to 34-14 and 41-21.

That would be the closest they would get the contest to as every time C.E. King tried responding and getting stops, Claude Mathis and DeSoto would have answers in the interim.

Feaster, a USC signee, capped his high school career with a state championship and finished with over 160 yards receiving and two touchdowns.
