Celina appeared poised to repeat its dominant 2024 season and win a second consecutive 4A Division I state title before it ran into Stephenville in the state semifinals. Next year, the nine-time football state champion will play in 5A Division II for football after its enrollment jumped from 1,177 to 1,520.

Quarterback Bowe Bentley, an Oklahoma signee, threw for 2,911 yards and 32 touchdowns and rushed for 474 yards and 11 touchdowns this season. Junior running back Evan Koehne led all rushers with 1,044 yards and 15 scores. The team’s leading receiver was LJ Taylor with 1,333 yards and 15 touchdowns.
