TASB’s grassroots process begins the formation of the Advocacy Agenda Priorities, which will guide the Association’s work during the 90th Legislative Session. During each regional Grassroots Meeting, trustees will determine the legislative issues of greatest importance to their regions. Those regional priorities are then developed into statewide priorities by the TASB Legislative Advisory and later considered and adopted by TASB’s Delegate Assembly.
During the meeting trustees will elect their regional representatives to the Legislative Advisory Council (LAC), which will meet twice in 2026 to review all regional priorities and make recommendations to the TASB Board for adoption by the Delegate Assembly.
Trustees must attend their regional grassroots meeting in person to be elected as a LAC representative and to be eligible for a special drawing. At each regional meeting, attendees will be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 student scholarship. Thank you to our sponsors: the TASB Risk Management Fund, BuyBoard, and the TASB Energy Cooperative.
Due to new rules adopted by the Texas State Board of Education, TASB cannot provide continuing education credit for sessions that may involve political advocacy.
The meetings are free to attend and include dinner.
