Rhea Scott, a beloved wife and mother, passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at the age of 73, surrounded by her family. She was born on July 10, 1952, in Spur, Texas, where she grew up and graduated from Spur High School.

In 1980, Rhea married Clarence Scott, and together they built a life of love and partnership while owning a successful construction business in Hereford. After dedicating nearly four decades to their business, the couple retired in 2019, relocating to Lubbock to be closer to family. Rhea was a member of Southcrest Baptist Church. An enthusiastic outdoorswoman, she had a profound appreciation for hunting and fishing, yet her true passion lay in golf. Additionally, Rhea spent many years as part of a bowling league, where she fostered friendships and enjoyed camaraderie among her fellow bowlers.

She leaves behind her husband, Clarence; three children, Mark Scott and his wife Leslie of Austin, Cindy Page and her husband Derrell of Palisade, Nebraska, and Kimberly Hurst and her husband Jay of Lubbock. Rhea is also survived by her brothers, Boyd Smith and his wife Tommie of Ennis and Dan Smith and his wife Cindy of Denison; grandchildren, Tressa (Jack), Ryan (Kaitlin), Meggan (Morgan), Ashley (Anthony), Riggan, Macy (Tanner), Andrea, Jett, Barrett, and Lincoln, as well as 10 great-grandchildren.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 pm, Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Venue on Broadway in Lubbock, 2202 Broadway. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Meals on Wheels, 2304 34th St, Lubbock, TX 79411.
