LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock County is putting its “Music Friendly” state designation to work next year.
Commissioners approved support for Buffalo Grass Fest in February, focused on helping local musicians.
The festival started five years ago, intended as an educational resource for artists from across the South Plains. This year’s focus is on video and teaching musicians how to promote themselves online with multi-media content.
Scott Faris and Joy Harris, both well-known parts of the music scene in the area, presented a request for support to the commissioners court today, urging them to support the next generation of musicians.
The court approved $10,000 as a “main stage” sponsor for the festival.
