LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Texas Tech recorded its first-ever win over Duke this weekend. And now the Red Raiders have climbed in the weekly AP Top 25 poll.
Tech (9-3) is no. 15, up four spots from last week.
Tech came back from down 17 in the second half to hand then-No. 3 Duke (11-1) its first loss of the season, 82-81 at Madison Square Garden in New York Saturday.
It was the largest lead Duke has had in a loss since 2007. This was the first Tech win over Duke, moving the all-time series now to 1-2. The Blue Devils knocked the Red Raiders out of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, in a Sweet Sixteen game in San Francisco. And Duke won a December 2018 meeting at Madison Square Garden.
The Big 12 has six teams in the Top 25.

The Red Raiders will have a Christmas break before they return home to the United Supermarkets Arena where they will host Winthrop on Sunday, Dec. 28. Conference play opens Jan. 3, hosting Oklahoma State at the USA.
