Billye McGinnis ,94, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on December 14, 2025. She was at home attended by her family. Billye was born November 6, 1931 in Honey Grove, Texas, to Paul and Nell Shafer of Grapevine, Texas. She was the oldest of five children. She married her cherished husband Ken McGinnis on September 25, 1966. Together, they were active in Texas real estate and ranching until their retirement to California. She returned to Texas in 2015 after Ken’s passing. Billye enjoyed reading, visiting with family, and enjoying her favorite movies and music. She was an outgoing, joyous, loving person. She will always be remembered by many as “Grams” or “Groomie”. Everyone that met her loved her dearly. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ken; son Jeff McGinnis; parents Paul and Nell Shafer; three siblings Lavada, Bobby, and Tommie.
