Texas is 4-2 and 1-1 in league play. The Longhorns got a big win the last time out, topping rival Oklahoma 23-6.

This will be just the second time that Texas has ever played in the Bluegrass State. In 1993, the Longhorns lost at Louisville.

• The Wildcats were led by freshmen in rushing (RB Jamarion Wilcox), receiving (TE Willie Rodriguez) and passing (QB Cutter Boley) yards.
• Boley’s third game of his career was at Texas last season, completing 10-of-18 pass attempts for 160 yards.
• On defense, safety and now junior Ty Bryant had a team-high-tying eight tackles.
The Connections • Landyn Watson, linebacker, is from Austin, Texas, and went to Hutto High School.
• UK has two other players from the state of Texas, including WR Ashton Cozart (Flower Mound) and RB Seth McGowan (Mesquite).
• Former UK running back Chad Scott is the RB position coach at Texas. He held the same position at UK in 2013.
• Former UK wide receiver and offensive coordinator Neal Brown is the special assistant to the head coach for offense at Texas.
• UK RB/ST coach Jay Boulware served as both a student and graduate assistant at Texas to begin his coaching career from 1994-96. He returned there as associate head coach, tight ends coach and special teams coordinator in 2020. He earned a degree from economics from Texas in 1996.
