Less than 48 hours after Texas A&M’s 10-3 first round College Football Playoff loss to the Miami Hurricanes, national commentators, some just waiting for the Aggies to fail in the postseason to provide their opinions, didn’t waste anytime writing various article or posting videos calling Texas A&M “fraudulent” after finishing with an 11-2 record, while making its first appearance in the CFP.

In Year 2 under head coach Mike Elko, Texas A&M won more than eight games for the first time since the 2020 season, and 11 victories since the 2012 campaign, while starting quarterback Marcel Reed, despite his struggles at the end of the season, threw for a career-high 3,169 yards and 25 touchdowns. Defensively, Texas A&M’s pass rush produced 41 sacks, led by unanimous All-American edge Cashius Howell.

Still, the narrative regarding Texas A&M’s schedule in SEC play, which included wins over seven teams, including five teams that finished with two or fewer conference wins, reared its ugly head at the end of the year, especially for Marcel Reed, who committed seven turnovers, including six interceptions against South Carolina, Texas, and Miami.

However, no one knew that LSU, Auburn, and Florida were going to be as bad as they were, while you can only play the teams in front of you. Well, being that it’s Texas A&M, no one is surprised when certain media personalities, especially those who predominantly cover the SEC, are quick to state that the historic season was a bust.

Well, no surprise here, as SEC Unfiltered founder Chris Phillips stated, despite all the Aggies achieved this season, they’re total frauds, and a “paper tiger.”
