Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly fired shots at a gathering of juveniles in Lucas, officials said.
LUCAS, Texas — Police are searching for a suspect in connection with a shooting at a gathering of teenagers in Lucas, officials said.Â
Collin County Sheriff’s Deputies responded around 10 p.m. Oct. 11 to the 500 block of Mark Drive in Lucas to reports of a large group of juveniles who were disturbing the neighborhood, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office said in a press release.Â
Witnesses said the gathering grew significantly, resulting in noise complaints and reports of underage drinking, officials said. Shortly after, additional 911 calls reported possible gunfire near the residence, the release states.Â
Witnesses said that an unknown person in a vehicle stopped in the roadway in front of the residence, fired shots in an unknown direction and left the scene, officials said.Â
When deputies arrived, they began dispersing the crowd and no injuries were reported, the release states.Â
Witnesses said a suspect was seen walking through a nearby yard, possibly carrying a long firearm, officials said. While searching for the suspect, deputies established a perimeter and used aerial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation. However, no suspect was located, officials said.Â
Officials are investigating the incident and there is no ongoing threat to the public, the release states.Â
