LUBBOCK, TX (News release from Texas Tech) – The Texas Tech Alumni Association invites Red Raiders to attend our 64th annual A Matador Evening celebration Friday, Oct. 10 at the McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.
Reception starts at 5 p.m., with program and dinner starting at 5:45 p.m.
This year the TTAA will recognize Jim Douglass ’70 with the Lauro F. Cavazos Award in honor of his more than 40 years of service to the alumni association, including creating the chapter network and growing the Traveling Techsans worldwide travel program. Jacob Lujan, a creative media industries student, will receive the Brent Ross Fearless Champion Award in recognition of his dedication, hard work and leadership as a student in the College of Media & Communication and as a student journalist at The Daily Toreador.
A Matador Evening is an annual homecoming event, hosted by the TTAA, to recognize Red Raiders who have made a positive impact on the university through their generosity, professional accomplishments and acts of service.
