Flight activity is beginning to settle down at North Texas airports as the final wave of holiday travel wraps up ahead of the New Year, though airlines say they’re still watching windy conditions that could affect flights headed to the Northeast.

At DFW International Airport, more than 600 delays and over two dozen cancellations were reported on Sunday. According to FlightAware, that number dropped significantly today to 23 delays and nine cancellations.

Conditions also improved at Dallas Love Field, where only 10 delays and three cancellations were reported on Monday morning.

American Airlines said it has fully recovered from winter weather impacts in the Northeast, though the ripple effects were felt nationwide. Post-holiday travel disruptions led to delayed and canceled flights across the country, including ground stops in Minneapolis and Chicago, which caused backups at other airports.

American said more than 880 flights are scheduled to depart from DFW on Monday. The airline added that it will continue monitoring gusty winds that moved into North Texas with a cold front.
