The Plano East football team has been on the receiving end of postseason awards.
Coaches in District 6-6A recently cast their ballots to finalize the All-District 6-6A football team, and 13 players from Plano East earned spots on the prestigious list.
Freshman running back Treyce Seldon was named the district’s Offensive Newcomer of the Year.
Seldon was quickly inserted into the role of lead back, and he excelled. He finished his first season in a Panther uniform with a team-high 870 rushing yards and 10 rushing touchdowns. He rushed for at least 100 yards three times, all during a three-game stretch. Seldon posted a career-best 185 yards and three rushing touchdowns in a 57-55 double-overtime loss to Princeton on Sept. 12.
Plano East had two other players receive consideration for district superlatives.
Senior running back/linebacker Travis Agee received at least one vote for Multi-Purpose Player of the Year. Agee, who was named to the second team at both inside linebacker and running back, finished second on the team in rushing yards (453) and rushing touchdowns (five) while adding 30 tackles and two tackles for loss on defense.
Senior fullback/tight end/quarterback Jackson Howard was one of four players in District 6-6A to receive votes for Multi-Purpose Player of the Year. Howard, who caught 24 passes for 329 receiving yards and scored three rushing touchdowns while also contributing 167 passing yards, was named to the all-district first team.
Senior outside linebacker Jace Boutte cracked the all-district first team after leading the Panthers with more than 90 tackles and two blocked punts.
Senior Jaxsen Harris was voted to the District 6-6A first team at offensive tackle. He had an impressive season that included returning from an injury and finished with 26 pancake blocks in seven games.
Earning selections to the All-District 6-6A second team from Plano East were senior defensive tackle Isaiah Lewis, junior defensive end Javon Rogers and senior defensive back Judah Thompson. Lewis finished with 40 tackles and seven tackles for loss. Rogers racked up 36 tackles, 11 tackles for loss, four sacks and 23 hurries. Thompson recorded 16 tackles and was limited to four games.
Senior offensive tackle Benton Byers, senior fullback/tight end Gabe Berliner, senior defensive end John Paul, senior safety Abdullhi Mahdi and junior defensive back Jordan Strafford were named to the honorable-mention team. Paul tallied 36 tackles, six tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and eight hurries in his final season in a Plano East uniform. Mahdi, a converted wide receiver, had three interceptions, including one that helped seal a 20-13 win over McKinney on Oct. 31.
Prosper senior wide receiver Lathon Latiolais was named the district’s Most Valuable Player. Special Teams Player of the Year honors went to his teammate, place kicker Michael Bukauskas. Eagle lineman Zaden Krempin was the unanimous selection for Offensive Lineman of the Year.
District champion Allen, which reached its first state semifinal since 2018, claimed six superlative awards.

Wide receiver Caleb Smith was named the district’s Multi-Purpose Player of the Year. Dom Butler earned Defensive Newcomer of the Year, and Devin Palmer was named Defensive Lineman of the Year.
