Kristi DeMeester’s “Dark Sisters” is a horror epic that explores faith, feminine rage and revenge.
St. Martin’s Press
Author Kristi DeMeester is coming to Dallas to discuss her novel Dark Sisters, a horror epic that explores faith, feminine rage and revenge.
The book chronicles the paths of women over three centuries in fictional Hawthorne Springs, where a religious group called The Path exercises control over every aspect of their lives. The book is inspired, in part, by DeMeester’s fundamentalist upbringing.
She’ll be at Interabang Books, 5600 W. Lovers Lane, at 6 p.m. on Jan. 14 to discuss the book and sign copies. Attendance is free.
The gallery and the community that has sprung up around it are at the center of a new book by Jason Hensel called “For the Love.”
These are some of our favorite letters of the year.
