ARANSAS PASS, Texas — A new year is bringing a fresh new look to the City of Aransas Pass.
Drivers entering the city will soon be greeted by a bright, colorful welcome sign designed to showcase community pride and make a strong first impression. The lettering for the new “Aransas Pass” sign has been three years in the making, and officials say it will be easy to spot.
Rosemary Vega, CEO of the Aransas Pass Chamber of Commerce, says the sign represents more than just a new design — it’s a statement about the city itself.
She says, “We are in the heart of the Coastal Bend. We are very proud of our community, our city. We want to make a statement that we are here and ready to accept visitors, and we welcome them. This is just going to be the start of that.”
City leaders hope both residents and visitors will feel welcomed as soon as they arrive.
The project is nearly complete, with crews expected to finish installation in the next few days.
