El Paso is getting ready to ring in the new year in a big way as the Second Annual New Year’s Eve Star Drop at WinterFest returns to downtown, promising an even bigger celebration for 2026!
After a successful debut last year, the City of El Paso, in partnership with In Blume, is once again inviting the community to gather at San Jacinto Plaza on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, starting at 8:00 p.m., for a free, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration powered by El Paso Electric.
Attendees can expect an unforgettable evening featuring live music, DJs, food trucks, and interactive entertainment leading up to the highly anticipated midnight countdown. The event is designed to be welcoming for all ages, making it the perfect option for families looking to celebrate together without the pressure of late-night venues or ticketed events.

El Paso’s Very Own NYE Star Drop
What makes this event stand out? Instead of a traditional ball drop, El Paso rings in the new year with a 30-foot illuminated Star Drop, designed to honor the El Paso community and celebrate the city’s unique identity.
I am so excited to be returning as the official MC for the second annual NYE Star Drop, and event organizers say this year’s event will build on last year’s success with enhanced production and even more entertainment.
The New Year’s Eve Star Drop at WinterFest is free and open to the public. For El Pasoans looking to close out 2025 and welcome 2026 together, San Jacinto Plaza is the place to be.
