LUBBOCK – Texas Tech’s No. 4 has earned his fourth Big 12 Starting Five honor of the season.

Christian Anderson secured his fourth conference honor of the season and second straight after going for 29 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead the No. 15-ranked Red Raiders to an 87-57 win over Winthrop on Sunday in their non-conference finale. The performance was his sixth game scoring over 20 points this season and followed his 27 points in the win over Duke that earned him Big 12 Player of the Week and Big 12 Starting Five honors last week.

A sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia, Anderson is now averaging 20.6 points, 7.1 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game – ranking in the top 10 within the Big 12 in each category entering conference play. He is currently second in the Big 12 and seventh nationally in assists while surging up the scoring rankings where he is now sixth in the Big 12 and 21st nationally. Anderson and JT Toppin (21.6 ppg.) are the only teammates in the nation currently averaging over 20 points per game as the calendar flips to 2026. Anderson has torched opponents throughout the season, beginning by scoring a career-high 34 points and having 11 assists in the season opener against Lindenwood. His 29 points against Winthrop pushed him over 20 ppg. while going 4-for-9 on 3-pointers in the game has him shooting 43.6% on 3-pointers which ranks fourth in the conference.

Anderson is joined in this week’s Big 12 Starting Five by AJ Dybantsa (BYU), Tounde Yessoufou (Baylor), Baba Miller (Cincinnati) and Joshua Jefferson (Iowa State). Dybantsa earned his first career Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week and Newcomer of the Week awards after notching his first career triple-double in the Cougars’ 109-81 win over Eastern Washington.

Texas Tech (10-3) is set to open Big 12 play against Oklahoma State at 12 p.m. on Saturday at United Supermarkets Arena. The Red Raiders are 7-0 at home this season with Anderson averaging 21.6 points, 6.6 assists, 2.14 steals and is shooting 23-for-48 (47.9%) from beyond the arc on his home court.
