Women’s 6k Course Results



COLLEGE STATION – The Sam Houston cross country teams competed at the Arturo Barrios Invite on Friday. The men’s team placed 21st and the women were 29th.
 
The men finished with 578 points ahead of Mercer, Louisiana, McNeese, Oklahoma City, UTSA, Baylor, Our Lady of the Lake, New Orleans, LeTourneau, Nicholls State, Nelson University, LSU, UT-Rio Grande Valley, and Celerity Performance. The women had 823 points beating Lamar, Nicholls State, Tarleton State, UTSA, UTEP, Our Lady of the Lake, Nelson University, LeTourneau, and Middle Tennessee.
 
Mario Ruiz was the top finisher, placing 46th with a time of 24:06.5 on the 8k course. Freshman Sophia Phillip led the women with a 96th-place showing with a time of 21:44.1 on the 6k course.
