In an interview conducted by The Popverse, Bryce Dallas Howard spoke briefly about her work on Ahsoka Season 2. While filming has officially wrapped, and even though the second season is still miles off from premiering, the actor and director praised how enjoyable it was to contribute to Star Wars again.

With previous directing credits on The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, and Skeleton Crew, it’s no surprise to see Howard involved in Ahsoka. While she did not have directing credits for season one, she is listed as a director for two upcoming episodes in season two.

When asked to describe the upcoming season starring Rosario Dawson, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and more, Howard responded quite comedically and emphasized how memorable an experience it was for her:

“Fun, fun and more fun. My experience getting to do it was the most fun that I have had in my adult life … This summer was magical.”

When asked if there were any other projects or aspects about the franchise she would like to return to and have a hand in, Howard pointed back to her previous works. While she’s been an active part of the franchise’s recent live-action developments, Howard didn’t want to “reinvent the wheel” and make something that wasn’t already established:

“With every single chance I’ve had to direct in Star Wars, there’s been a new opportunity to explore different facets of this galaxy, which is really always very exciting. Mandalorian culture, I was thrilled by getting to play with the Darksaber. The nuance of the techniques. And with Ahsoka, naturally, there are Jedi — or, maybe Jedi … I kept saying, ‘I’m new to The Force! I’m new to The Force!’ Because I didn’t want to invent anything on the spot that wasn’t part of the fabric of it.”

Filming for the second season of Ahsoka officially wrapped this fall. However, one actress who won’t be returning will be Claudia Black, who portrayed Great Mother Klothow on the planet Peridea. Yet another actress who portrayed another fellow Nightsister in Ahsoka stated that the Nightsisters will be fleshed out even further in the show.

Ahsoka Season 2 is set to premiere sometime in 2026 on Disney Plus.
