A 25-year-old man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly traveled from out of state and kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and shot her new boyfriend once he arrived in town, Arlington police said in a statement Wednesday.
Officers responded to an apartment complex in the 700 block of Forest Hills Drive around 11:10 p.m. after residents reported seeing a man with a gun.
While there, officers received another call about a man with a gunshot wound outside an apartment in the 2100 block of Park Willow Lane. Investigators determined he was a victim of the Forest Hills incident.
The 29-year-old man, who was not identified, was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive, the statement said.

Investigators learned the Forest Hills shooting had taken place inside an apartment where the gunshot victim, two women and two children had been. One of the women, the man and the children were able to escape out the back window during the incident.
The suspect, identified as 25-year-old Aaron Webb, forced the second woman into a vehicle and left the scene, the statement said. Officers determined Webb is the ex-boyfriend of the unidentified woman he left the scene with, and the male victim is her new partner.
Police said the woman received a few injuries to her face, as she said Webb had struck her while they were in the vehicle, but she was otherwise unhurt.
The woman told investigators she moved to Arlington from out of state this year to get away from Webb, but he followed her and had been repeatedly calling and texting her.
