Admittedly, I don’t eat buffets very often, because I have very little restraint when you tell me that I can eat all that I want, and Lord knows I don’t need to be doing that regularly. However, when I do visit an all-you-can-eat joint, I cut loose. Yeah, I get my money’s worth and then some.

So, I came across Tasting Table’s list of the best all-you-can-eat buffets in each state and just had to click into it and see which Texas spot made the list. I write about food quite often, and if you’ve read any of my past articles, you know I’m always looking to add to my restaurant bucket list.

Any time I come across a list of the best places to eat in each state, I fully expect an Austin restaurant to make the list. Now, that’s not always the case, but it almost always is. Our state capital is known for its vast selection of culinary perfection.

Therefore, I wasn’t surprised to see that Austin’s Soupleaf Hot Pot was deemed the best buffet in the Lone Star State. Here’s what they had to say about it:

This family-owned restaurant is serving up some of the freshest, most delicious soups around, with proteins from Prime Angus shoulder and beef tongue to scallops and shrimp. There’s a variety of noodles, numerous broths (with seasonal flavors), and everything is perfectly prepared for you to mix your own perfect meal.

If you’re ready to give them a try, you’ll find Soupleaf Hot Pot at 6929 Airport Blvd.
