AUSTIN, Texas. — The No.2 Texas Volleyball team completed its tenth sweep of the season, extending its undefeated streak to 15 games with the win against Arkansas (25-17, 25-14, 27-25).  The Longhorns held the Razorbacks below their season hitting percentage (.210) at .124 and held them to their second lowest kills of the season at 31. 

Stafford recorded her 1000th career kill in the win and finished with nine, two assists, and three digs. Freshman Abby Vander Wal notched 13 kills and two blocks, marking her third straight game with double-digit kills in the season. Fellow freshman Taylor Harvey recorded a season high five blocks, along with three kills. Eight Longhorns recorded at least one kill in the win.

Set One: In the opening set of the match, the Longhorns limited the Razorbacks offense to a .103 hitting percentage. Texas sealed the first set with a 5-0 run, led by middle blockers Harvey and Ames, who combined for six kills and four blocks for the Longhorns. 

Set Two: The Longhorns took set two by recording their highest hitting percentage in a set this season at .609. Texas held the Razorbacks to their second lowest scoring of the season excluding a fifth set at 14. Stafford and Cari Spears totaled eight kills, while Ella Swindle notched seven assists in the second set. Swindle finished with 23 assists and now has 460 on the season, helping Texas lead the NCAA in assists per set at 13.81. 

Set Three: Texas finished the final set of the match limiting Arkansas to a .095 hitting percentage. Vander Wal sealed the victory for the Longhorns with five kills, along with Swindle’s 10 assists.

Texas will host Oklahoma on Sunday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.
