Harris County seeks help identifying body found in bayou

HOUSTON – Harris County officials are asking the public for help in identifying the body of a man who was found in a Houston bayou on Dec. 22.

That same morning, authorities found another body in a nearby bayou.

The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences are looking for information on an adult male who was found on the bank of Brays Bayou near 5579 Old Spanish Trail after water levels had receded.

According to a forensics report, the man is 5′6″, approximately 119 pounds, has short brown hair and white/brown stubble.

Authorities said they have not been able to identify his race or age due to severe decomposition.

The man also has several tattoos:

More photos of the tattoos have been uploaded to the NamUs database for identification purposes.

The forensics report also says the man has a large white metal bridge replacing his upper front teeth.

Authorities said his body was found wearing black Calvin Klein pants (size 30×32, slim), a black leather Dickies belt with a white metal buckle, and black plastic Adidas slip-on shoes. A Chaps red polo shirt with white and black stripes was found near his body.

So far in 2025, there have been 34 bodies found in Houston bayous and nearly 200 since 2017.
