LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – There was more heat for the South Plains today with highs in the mid to upper 70s.
Tomorrow’s high will be slightly lower after a cold front moves through the area early Saturday. I expect Saturday’s afternoon highs to be in the 60s northwest and around 70 degrees in Lubbock.

Winds will be much lower Saturday, from the north to northeast at 10-20 mph with a few clouds in the area.

Sunday will return to the 70s as southwest winds and partly sunny skies spread warmer air across the South Plains. Fire danger will be elevated on Sunday due to dry conditions, warm temperatures and gusty winds.
