Kevin Durant is a two-time NBA champion, 15-time All Star, and the all-time Team USA lead Olympic scorer with four gold medals. This past year, Durant became the eighth player in NBA history to reach 31,000 points. Now at 37 years old, Durant continues to shine on the court with an average of 25 points per game with the Rockets.

While there’s still plenty more for Durant to give to the game, the future hall-of-famer is delving into the Food & Beverage Industry with his coming restaurant: Austin Sports Club.

Austin Sports Club is a concept created in collaboration between Durant and Rich Kleiman of their Boardroom Hospitality brand, as well as Airbnb co-founder, Joe Gebbia, and Lobos Hospitality. The latter is the same hospitality group behind many popular Austin concepts including Powder Room, Manny’s, and Toasty Badger.

Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman are partners in Boardroom, a multi-media endeavor that encompasses sports, media, and entertainment. Austin Sports Club, marks the brand’s first foray into the restaurant biz. Described as a luxury restaurant and sports bar, Austin Sports Club will take over the 4,700-square-foot space formerly occupied by J. Prime Steakhouse at 205 E. Third St. in Austin, Texas.

Located around the corner from fellow famed Longhorn’s Vince Young Steakhouse, Austin Sports Club is described as a “timeless restaurant reimagined for the modern athlete, executive, and tastemaker“. According to Austin American-Statesman, the menu of the restaurant is still under development.

As for Durant, who played one season with the Texas Longhorns, it isn’t the first time that he’s has given back to Austin. In 2018, Durant donated $3 million to the University of Texas to go toward a new practice facility near Moody Center.

Durant’s Austin Sports Club is expected to open at 205 E. Third St. in Austin in Spring 2026.
