(KBTX) – Texas A&M safety Bryce Anderson entered the transfer portal Saturday, according to a source with access to the database.
Anderson, who had been a key contributor earlier in his career, took a redshirt in 2025 after suffering a head injury during the Aggies win at Notre Dame. He saw action in four regular season games and played six snaps during A&M’s College Football Playoff first-round loss to Miami.
Senior punter Truette Tumey also entered his name into the portal Saturday. He has not seen action as a part of the A&M program.
Anderson came to A&M as a part of its record-breaking 2022 recruiting class and saw action immediately, recording 28 tackles, including 3 1/2 tackles for loss, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble in his freshman season.
His sophomore season proved to be his best, which included 54 tackles, with 7 tackles for loss and 1 1/2 sacks, an interception and four pass breakups.
The 5-foot-10, 186-pound defensive back was carted off the field in the first half of A&M’s win at Notre Dame after suffering a head injury. After he was cleared by medical professionals, he played 14 snaps against Florida, but wouldn’t see the field for the remainder of the regular season, opting to take a redshirt.
A&M now has 14 players in the portal on the second day of the window.
