Monday will bring gusty winds, mostly sunny skies and warmer temperatures as afternoon highs return to the mid-70s. Winds will be strong enough to create some blowing dust. Those winds will also increase the fire danger from eastern New Mexico to all of the South Plains.

Winds will be decreasing, along with temperatures on Tuesday, but it will still be warm with highs around the 70-degree mark.
For the long term, much colder temperatures by Thursday and a chance for some wintry precipitation in the area.
