After 20 years as “102.7 Jack-FM,” Connoisseur Media rebranded adult hits KJXK San Antonio as the more locally focused “102.3 Bob-FM” on Monday (Jan. 5), with a music mix positioned as “80s, 90s and Whatever.”

The move to “Bob-FM” followed nearly a week where the station teased the coming change on-air, starting New Year’s Eve with songs such as the Gap Band’s “You Dropped a Bomb on Me,” NSYNC’s “Bye Bye Bye,” Linkin Park’s “In The End” and Bob Seger’s “Turn the Page.” When the music ended, the station broadcast hold music along with a computerized voice counting down to the new station’s official launch.

As “Jack-FM,” which debuted Jan. 1, 2006, KJXK had closely followed the presentation of the national “Jack” radio brand, with the tagline “playing what we want” and between-songs quips from announcer Howard Cogan, aka “Jack.”

According to Connoisseur’s news release, while “Bob-FM,” like its predecessor, features “a wide-ranging playlist spanning decades and styles,” it also has “a sharper focus on localized content, community involvement, and music selections tailored even more closely to South Texas listeners. The result: a station that feels familiar, upbeat, sarcastically fun, and unmistakably San Antonio.”

“This is all about serving our listeners and clients even better,” Connoisseur Media San Antonio VP Market Manager Morgan Harrison says. “102.7 Bob-FM keeps the adult hits format people enjoy, while giving us more room to spotlight San Antonio — its neighborhoods, its culture, and its sense of fun. We’re making radio that feels local, alive, and connected — the way it should be.”

Connoisseur Media San Antonio Operations Manager Greg Martin adds, “Our goal is simple: keep it fun and keep it consistent. Bob-FM is built around music that people know and love, delivered with personality. It’s easy to listen to, easy to enjoy, and it fits San Antonio perfectly.”

KJXK is one of more than 200 stations that had been owned and operated by Alpha Media before it was acquired by Connoisseur in September 2025.
