AUSTIN, Texas — A 19-year-old was fatally shot at a party early Thursday morning, marking Austin’s first homicide of 2026. The victim, Isaiah Atkinson, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Austin Police Department officers responded to a call at approximately 1:28 a.m. at 7801 N. Lamar Blvd. #B148, where they found Atkinson with a gunshot wound to the chest. According to a press release from the department, Atkinson had been attending a party at an event center when a disturbance led to the shooting. The suspect remains unidentified and at large.
Homicide detectives and crime scene specialists are actively investigating the incident, seeking public assistance to identify witnesses and suspects.
