(CNN) – Drivers have at least one reason to be happy in the new year.
GasBuddy predicts the average price for a gallon of regular gasoline will be $2.97 in 2026.
That would be the first year below $3 since 2020.
It would also mark four straight years of falling prices.
GasBuddy is making the prediction despite ongoing uncertainty in oil-rich Venezuela.
