AUSTIN, Texas — A single-vehicle crash on Thursday morning claimed the life of 43-year-old Nickolas Paul Marchioni, of Austin, Texas, marking the city’s first fatal crash of 2026. The incident occurred at 9:26 a.m. in the 2400 block of W Ben White Blvd SVRD WB, according to the Austin Police Department.
Austin Police Department officers responded to the scene where Marchioni, the sole occupant of a pickup truck pulling a trailer, was involved in the crash. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services attempted life-saving measures before transporting him to South Austin Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
This incident is under investigation as Austin’s first fatal crash of the year, with no fatal crashes reported on the same date in 2025. The investigation is ongoing, and fatality information may change, stated the source.
