Texas A&M adds South Carolina offensive lineman via transfer

  • January 6, 2026

(KBTX) – Texas A&M football received the commitment of South Carolina transfer offensive lineman Trovon Baugh Monday, his agent John Thornton confirmed with KBTX.

The 6-foot-4, 337-pound lineman started 11 games last season for the Gamecocks, all at right guard. In 2025, Baugh played 611 snaps, a year after seeing action in 621 snaps, according to Pro Football Focus.

Last year, Baugh received a 60.8 pass blocking grade and a 55.9 run blocking grade, per PFF.

Baugh was a 3-star transfer prospect, ranked No. 52 nationally among transfer offensive linemen, according to 247Sports.com. He was a 3-star recruit out of Pace Academy in Atlanta Ga. in the class of 2023.

A&M loses the majority of its offensive line starters this offseason with center Mark Nabou Jr., Ar’maj Reed-Adams, Dametrious Crownover and Trey Zuhn III out of eligibility. The lone remaining starter, junior Chase Bisontis, could also declare for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Baugh is the second offensive lineman to commit to the Aggies out of the portal after LSU offensive lineman Coen Echols pledged to the Aggies on Sunday. He becomes the seventh player to pick A&M via transfer in this portal window, which opened Friday.
