Trader Joe’s is eyeing another city in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

A document filed with the Wylie Planning and Zoning Commission shows plans for a retail development with images of a Trader Joe’s building. The agenda item is part of a proposal for a grocery store.

“We are actively looking at hundreds of neighborhoods across the country, including in Wylie, as we hope to open more new neighborhood stores each year,” Trader Joe’s said in a statement. “At this time, we do not have a location confirmed in the area.”

Wylie is located northeast of Dallas, with most of the city sitting in Collin County.

The grocer is expanding its reach in North Texas as it looks to tap into its growing population and the dynamic job market. Trader Joe’s, which has locations in Dallas and other nearby cities, recently said it has plans for a Frisco site and is investing in another store in McKinney.

The new Wylie store is set to be at 2710 W FM 544, according to the commission document. It’s for the development of a “grocery store and retail building” on nearly four acres.
